Another beautiful day of hiking in the Andes!
And we saw an Andean Fox (lobo andino)
Went past a snow powdered lake between two volcanoes. The weather started to move in, the rocks started getting slippery and the snow deeper and deeper.
We finally arrived 50 m from the top of the peak on a basalt finger covered in snow and ice. Almost to 16800 feet, but not quite. We did not have ropes, ice axes or helmets, and we watched another group fully kitted out struggle up and fall a few times on their safety ropes. We called it quits before anyone got hurt - next time Iliniza Norte!
